  1. Heat oil in heavy large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add in garlic; saute/fry till just tender, about 3 min. Add in ham and stir for 1 minute. Add in endive, broth and beans. Simmer till endive wilts and is tender but still bright green; about 10 min. Season with salt and pepper.
