Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking pan, stir together butter (or possibly oil), honey and brown sugar. Fold in oats, bran cereal, sunflower seeds and cinnamon.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 15 min, stirring every 5 min.
  4. Stir in wheat germ, almonds, almond and vanilla extracts. Bake for 10 min or possibly till golden.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately stir in dry blueberries. Allow mix to cold thoroughly before storing.
  6. This recipe yields 5 1/3 c. granola.
  7. Trail Mix Ideas: The above granola makes a great-tasting base for a nutritious, high-energy trail mix. To make your own trail mix, add in your favorite snack items such as: o Rocky Road u Dry Blueberry Granola with mini marshmallows, peanuts and chocolate chips.
  8. o Fruit Pie u Dry Blueberry Granola with dry apple bits, walnuts and extra cinnamon.
  9. o Island Mix u Dry Blueberry Granola with white chocolate chunks, shredded coconut and macadamia nuts.
  10. Yield: 5 1/3 c.
