Ingredients
- 3 c. water
- 2 sm onions minced
- 3 stalk celery minced
- 2 x carrots sliced
- 1 x 16 ounce can tomatoes
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp. monosodium glutamate
- 1 x 10 ounce pkg frzn mixed vegetables
- 1 lb coarsely grnd beef or possibly stew meat, browned
- 2 Tbsp. beef base or possibly granules (2 to 4)
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Directions
- Put all ingredients except butter and flour in crock pot. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hrs. One hour before serving, turn to high. Make a roux of 1 stick melted butter and 1/2 c. flour. Stir till smooth. Pour into crock pot and stir till thickened. Cook soup on high till thickened.
