Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef round steak
  • 1 Tbsp. veg. oil
  • 1 x onion
  • 1 can cream of celery soup - (10 3/4 ounce)
  • 1 can cream of broccoli soup - (10 3/4 ounce)
  • 1 tsp dry oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dry thyme
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic pwdr
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. red or possibly white wine
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper

Directions

  1. Trim fat from steak. Cut meat into serving size portions. In a skillet brown meat in warm oil. Slice onion and place in bottom of 4-qt crock pot. Place browned meat atop onion.
  2. In a bowl combine remaining ingredients; pour over meat. Cook on HIGH heat setting for 5 hrs. Serve over rice with a steamed broccoli side dish.
  3. This recipe yields 4 servings.
