Ingredients

  • 4 (6 1/2 ounce.) cans clams or possibly 3 lbs. fresh/frzn
  • 1/2 pound salt pork or possibly bacon, diced
  • 1 lg. onion, minced
  • 6 to 8 lg. potatoes, pared and cubed
  • 3 c. water
  • 3 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 c. half and half cream or possibly lowfat milk
  • 3 to 4 tbsp. cornstarch

Directions

  1. If the fish is frzn, thaw; cut into bite sized pcs. In skillet, saute/fry salt pork or possibly bacon and onion till golden; drain. Put into crock pot with clams. Add in all other ingredients, except lowfat milk. Cover; cook on high 3 to 4 hrs or possibly till potatoes are tender. During the last hour of cooking, combine 1 or possibly 2 c. of lowfat milk with the cornstarch. Add in to crock pot with remaining lowfat milk and stir well. Serve in large bowls with crusty French bread.
