Ingredients

  • 1 frying chicken, cut up or possibly quartered
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 3/4 c. minced onion
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sweet basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme

Directions

  1. Place chicken in slow cooking pot. Combine all remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. Cover tightly and cook at "low" for 6 to 8 hrs. (If you have a "high" you can cook at high for 3 to 4 hrs.) makes 4 servings.
  2. Note: I cut the chicken in pcs and place in my small roaster. I pour sauce over, cover, and place in 325 degree oven and it takes 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. You can do 2 or possibly 3 chickens in the roaster, in about the same amount of time, but you need one recipe of sauce for each chicken. I layer the chicken and pour sauce over each layer, You can also use just breast and thighs and it turns out well.
