Creamy Hot Bean Dip Recipe

Ingredients

  • Canola oil or possibly spray
  • 1/2 c. (4 ounces) light cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • 1/2 c. fat-free or possibly light lowfat sour cream
  • 1 x (16-oz) can vegetarian or possibly fat-free refried beans
  • 1 Tbsp. packaged taco seasoning mix (bought in (1-oz) envelopes)
  • 5 dsh warm pepper sauce (such as Tabasco)
  • 2 tsp dry parsley flakes
  • 1/3 c. minced scallions (white and part of green)
  • 1 c. shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1 c. shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese (4 ounces)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (if using the oven). Coat an 8-by-8 inch baking dish or possibly loaf pan with canola oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl blend the cream cheese, lowfat sour cream, refried beans, taco seasoning, warm pepper sauce, parsley, green onions, and half of the cheese till smooth. Spread mix into prepared baking dish, top with remaining cheese and bake till bean dip is warm and cheese is bubbling (about 20 min).
