%20%7C%20%23Secret%20Recipe%20Club%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDecember%206,%2020151%20Comment%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMaple%20colored%20batter%20on%20top%20of%20the%20cranberries%20and%20apples.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20uninitiated,%20The%20Secret%20Recipe%20Club%20is%20a%20group%20of%20around%20130%20food%20bloggers,%20separated%20into%20four%20smaller%20blogging%20groups,%20each%20of%20which%20post%20at%20different%20times%20of%20the%20month.%20Every%20month,%20we%E2%80%99re%20each%20assigned%20a%20blog%20in%20our%20group%20to%20look%20through.%20We%20try%20a%20few%20recipes%20and%20chose%20one%20to%20post%20about.%20But%20all%20month,%20we%20keep%20our%20assignment%20a%20secret%20until%20%E2%80%98reveal%20day%E2%80%99.%20It%E2%80%99s%20been%20a%20lot%20of%20fun%20%E2%80%93%20and%20I%E2%80%99ve%20found%20some%20great%20new%20blogs%20to%20follow%20and%20new%20recipes%20to%20add%20to%20my%20rotation.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20month,%20I%20was%20assigned%20Anna%20at%20BCMom%E2%80%99s%20Kitchen%20and%20what%20a%20wonderful%20blog.%20This%20recipe%20is%20a%20perfect%20example%20of%20things%20on%20her%20blog%20%E2%80%93%20recipes%20that%20look%20delicious%20and%20are%20easy%20to%20make.%20She%20tries%20to%20post%20recipes%20with%20ingredients%20you%E2%80%99re%20likely%20to%20have%20on%20hand,%20so%20most%20everything%20on%20her%20blog%20is%20very%20accessible%20to%20any%20cook,%20no%20matter%20your%20skill%20level.%20Some%20other%20recipes%20I%20want%20to%20try%20include%20her%20Apple%20Pie%20Liqueur%20(doesn%E2%80%99t%20the%20idea%20of%20that%20sound%20amazing?),%20Apple%20Crunch%20because%20I%20love%20everything%20apple,%20and%20her%20Buffalo%20Roasted%20Chickpeas%20(I%20already%20know%20I%E2%80%99m%20going%20to%20get%20addicted%20to%20them),%20but%20ultimate%20chose%20her%20Cranberry%20Tart%20because%20we%E2%80%99re%20in%20the%20holiday%20season.%20So%20go%20visit%20her%20blog.%20Seriously,%20now!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFresh%20from%20the%20oven,%20kissed%20by%20a%20spray%20of%20powdered%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20incredible%20dessert%20could%20also%20be%20used%20as%20a%20breakfast%20treat%20(think%20coffee%20cake)%20or%20an%20afternoon%20snacking%20cake.%20I%20made%20a%20few%20changes,%20partly%20because%20that%E2%80%99s%20just%20who%20I%20am%20(and%20luckily%20Anna%20takes%20the%20same%20approach%20to%20her%20recipes%20too),%20and%20partly%20because%20of%20my%20husband%E2%80%99s%20and%20my%20nut%20allergies%20(the%20original%20recipe%20calls%20for%20pecans,%20which%20I%E2%80%99m%20sure%20would%20be%20a%20perfect%20pairing%20for%20flavor%20and%20a%20little%20crunch).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20a%20scoop%20of%20ice%20cream,%20and%20maybe%20a%20drizzle%20of%20caramel%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20added%20cocoa%20nibs%20in%20place%20of%20the%20nuts,%20it%20seemed%20a%20fair%20trade%20to%20me,%20and%20I%20used%20coconut%20palm%20sugar%20instead%20of%20regular%20granulated%20sugar.%20This%20explains%20a%20maple%20color%20to%20the%20batter%20on%20top.%20The%20chocolate%20nibs%20melted%20and%20sunk%20to%20the%20bottom%20to%20form%20a%20little%20chocolate%20crust%20on%20the%20bottom.%20The%20batter%20melts%20through%20the%20fruit,%20thanks%20to%20a%20copious%20amount%20of%20butter,%20and%20cooks%20up%20like%20a%20cake.%20But%20you%20make%20it%20in%20a%20tart/pie%20pan.%20I%20also%20took%20Anna%E2%80%99s%20recommendation%20for%20adding%20some%20apple%20to%20the%20mix,%20and%20instead%20of%20the%20almond%20extract%20(the%20pesky%20nut%20allergies),%20I%20took%20her%20advice%20and%20substituted%20vanilla%20extract%20and%20orange%20zest.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo.%20Die.%20For.%20And%20it%20will%20be%20part%20of%20my%20regular%20rotation%20now,%20just%20like%20that%20peach%20cake.%20The%20kids%20and%20grandkids%20would%20love%20it%20when%20they%20visit%20over%20the%20Christmas%20holidays.%20Thanks%20Anna!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETotal%20time:%20%201%20hour%20%20%20%20%20%20%20Ingredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20cups%20cranberries,%20rinsed%20and%20drained%201%20apple,%20peeled,%20cored,%20and%20diced%201-1/2%20cups%20coconut%20palm%20sugar,%20divided%20(or%20regular%20granulated%20sugar)%201%20Tbsp%20cocoa%20nibs%201-1/2%20sticks%20unsalted%20butter,%20melted%201%20cup%20(4.5%20ounces)%20all-purpose%20flour%202%20large%20eggs,%20beaten%201%20tsp%20vanilla%20extract%20zest%20of%20one%20orange%201%20Tbsp%20turbinado%20sugar%20confectioners%20sugar,%20for%20final%20dusting%20before%20serving%20vanilla%20ice%20cream%20(optional)%20caramel%20(optional)%20%20%20Instructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%CB%9AF,%20and%20lightly%20butter%20a%209-inch%20pie%20pan%20with%20butter.%20Spread%20the%20cranberries%20and%20apple%20chunks%20in%20an%20even%20layer%20across%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20pie%20pan.%20Sprinkle%20%C2%BD%20cup%20of%20the%20sugar%20and%20the%20cocoa%20nibs%20over%20them.%20Using%20a%20wooden%20spoon,%20vigorously%20beat%20together%20the%20melted%20butter,%20flour,%20eggs,%20extract,%20orange%20zest,%20and%20the%20remaining%201%20cup%20of%20sugar%20in%20a%20
