Directions

  1. Put 3 cups water in a pot. Add in 1 lb pitted cherries and an additional 2 lb of summer fruit (green grapes and ripe peaches are particularly good and additional cherries if they are running cheap. Don't use plums. Feel free to experiment). Add in 1/4 cup sugar, 1 lemon cut into wedges (don't remove skin), and cinnamon to taste.Bring to a boil and simmer, covered, for 5 min. Cool. Chill Serve cold with a dollop of lowfat sour cream, as they say. Lasts in refrigerator for at least 3 days. Extremely refreshing on a hot summer night.
