Hi friends! I hope each of you had a great Thanksgiving. Husband and I are slated to celebrate with friends on Saturday, so our only taste of turkey came via a supermarket sample, which surprisingly was accompanied by gravy. Mmm! What did we eat on Thanksgiving? Well, lunch wound up being a quick bean soup I threw together from some black beans that’d been pressure cooked the before. Dinner, a little more exquisite, was a big skillet full of rice with oysters and all the veggies in the fridge, accompanied by refried beans.

%20Needless%20to%20say,%20we%20walked,%20we%20saw,%20we%20walked%20back.%20No%20java,%20as%20it%20was%20still%20under%20construction,%20but%20I%20did%20score%20a%20free%20Gerber%20daisy%20that%20the%20mall%20supermarket%20was%20passing%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApparently%20mall%20grand%20openings%20here%20in%20Costa%20Rica%20are%20a%20big%20deal.%20They%20had%20a%20fireworks%20display%20on%20opening%20night,%20when%20they%20lighted%20the%20Christmas%20tree.%20The%20morning%20when%20we%20visited,%20we%20saw%20these%20dancers%20giving%20it%20their%20all%20for%20a%20crowd%20gathered%20right%20inside%20the%20mall%20entrance.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESummer%20Elizabeth%20warmed%20up%20just%20dandy%20to%20her%20new%20secondhand%20Ergo%20Organic%20baby%20carrier.%20She%20weighs%20around%2023%20lbs.%20now,%20and%20was%20really%20stretching%20out%20the%20Sleepywrap%20that%20we%E2%80%99d%20used%20since%20her%20birth.%20I%E2%80%99m%20happy%20to%20say%20that%20the%20whole%20family%20really%20likes%20the%20security%20and%20comfort%20of%20the%20Ergo,%20but%20I%E2%80%99ll%20save%20my%20Ergo%20reviews%20for%20another%20post.%20Did%20I%20mention%20the%20baby%20also%20finds%20destashing%20any%20bag/box/cabinet/shelf%20the%20bees%20knees?%20Look%20what%20she%E2%80%99s%20pulling%20out%20here%20on%20our%20walk%20home.%20Yep,%20my%20friends,%20that%E2%80%99s%20a%20diaper%20cover.%20*Blush*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20dinner%20last%20night%20with%20earbuds%20inserted%20deep,%20blasting%20old%20school%20Newsboys%20tunes.%20One%20certain%20baby%20decided%20it%20was%20not%20time%20for%20night-night%20and%20whined%20for%2030%20minutes.%20My%20sanity%20solution%20was%20singing%20worship%20tunes%20and%20asking%20Husband%20to%20deal%20with%20baby%20if%20the%20crying%20became%20exasperated.%20It%20didn%E2%80%99t,%20but%20I%20really%20enjoyed%20the%20refreshing%20time%20with%20God.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELast%20night%20I%20had%20a%20cooking%20epiphany.%20We%E2%80%99ve%20lived%20one%20week%20in%20our%20new%20home,%20and%20I%20was%20getting%20frustrated%20being%20the%20lone%20chef%20every%20day.%20Imagine%20the%20light%20bulb%20moment%20when%20I%20realized%20what%20a%20quick%20fix%20this%20problem%20had.%20You%20see,%20we%20have%20one%20knife%20and%20one%20cutting%20board%20in%20the%20house.%20Of%20course,%20I%20was%20bound%20to%20be%20peeling,%20chopping,%20and%20prepping%20meals%20alone.%20You%20can%20bet%20that%20before%20this%20week%20ends,%20there%20will%20be%20a%20quick%20trip%20to%20the%20store%20for%20another%20cutting%20board%20and%20knife.%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELast%20but%20not%20least,%20I%E2%80%99d%20share%20with%20you%20that%20I%E2%80%99ve%20made%20my%20share%20%20of%20pies%20for%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20month.%20Our%20school%20held%20a%20Thanksgiving%20assembly%20on%20Wednesday%20that%20ended%20with%20a%20pie%20social.%20Eight%20families%20ordered%20pie%20baked%20by%20yours%20truly.%20Besides%20mine,%20there%20were%20gobs%20of%20delicious%20options,%20including%20kiwi%20pie,%20a%20new%20one%20for%20me.%20I%20sampled%20varieties%20of%20lemon,%20pumpkin,%20kiwi,%20and%20chocolate%20pies,%20but%20in%20my%20defense%20(as%20if%20I%20need%20one,%20right?)%20the%20slices%20were%203%20bite-sized.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHave%20a%20fantastic%20weekend,%20friends.%20I%E2%80%99m%20really%20so%20happy%20just%20to%20have%20you%20here%20reading%20today.%20I%E2%80%99d%20have%20never%20imagined%20that%20anyone%20short%20of%20my%20husband%20would%20really%20read%20my%20blog,%20but%20here%20we%20are%20nearly%203%201/2%20years%20later%20and%20you%20sweet%20people%20come%20back%20over%20and%20over%20again,%20and%20make%20me%20feel%20loved.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThank%20you.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELinking%20with%20Casey%20Leigh,%20Rags%20to%20Stitches%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
