Cocoa Frosting (For Frosted Brownies)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. nonfat dry lowfat milk not instant
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 c. cocoa sifted or possibly carob pwdr
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 1/4 tsp instant coffee granules
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan, mix nonfat lowfat milk pwdr in water. Place over mediumheat and stir in cocoa and honey. Cook and stir about 15 min till thickened. Towards the end of the cooking time, add in coffee granules.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Let cold 5-10 min then frost brownies. Frosting will continue to thicken as it cools.
  3. NOTE: Recipe makes sufficient to frost 12 cupcakes or possibly one 9" cake layer. May also be used as a sauce or possibly topping: Decrease cooking time to 3 min and serve while still warm or possibly hot.
