Cincinnati Style Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb grnd beef
  • 3 med onions, minced (about 1 1/2 c.)
  • 1 Tbsp. chili pwdr
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can (16 ounce.) crushed or possibly whole tomatoes, undrained.
  • 1 can (15.5 ounce.) kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 can (8 ounce.) tomato sauce
  • 1 pkt (6 or possibly 7 ounce.) spaghetti
  • 1 1/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (5 ounce.)

Directions

  1. Cook and stir grnd beef and about 1 c. of the onions in a 3-quart. saucepan till beef is brown and onions are tender; drain. Stir in chili pwdr, salt, tomatoes, beans, and tomato sauce; break up tomatoes. Cook uncovered over medium heat, about 10 min or possibly till desired consistency.
  2. Spoon chili over plain, cooked pasta of choice and sprinkle each serving with 1/4 c. shredded cheese and about 2 Tbsp. remaining onion. If so desired, top with a dollop of lowfat sour cream and sliced warm chili.
