Chocolate Mint Breakfast Chews Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 sqr , (1 oz) semisweet chocolate
  • 1/2 c. Butter, softened
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1 c. Minced walnuts
  • 1/2 c. Mint jelly Powdered sugar for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Heat the chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat . Set aside to cold. Cream the butter in a large mixing bowl. When smooth, add in the sugar, Large eggs, vanilla, flour, and melted chocolate. Stir well to combine. Gently mix in the walnuts. Pour the batter into an 8x11-inch nonstick baking pan. Spread the mint jelly proportionately overtop, lightly pushing into the batter. Bake for 30 min. Cold and cut into 2-inch squares. Dust with powdered sugar.
