Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. packed light brown sugar
- 3/4 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1 x egg -- slightly beaten
- 1 c. coarsely minced nuts
- 12 ounce semisweet chocolate chips divided
- 1 can condensed lowfat milk (14 ounces)
- 1 pkt toffee bits (10-oz) divided
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, stir together flour and sugar. Cut in butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add in egg. Mix well. Stir in nuts and 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips. Reserve 1 1/2 c. of this mix. Press remaining crumb mix onto bottom of a greased 13-by-9-inch pan. Bake for 10 min. Remove from oven. Pour condensed lowfat milk proportionately over crust; top with 1 1/2 c. toffee bits. Sprinkle remaining crumb mix on top, followed by remaining 1/2 c. chocolate chips. Bake 25 to 30 min or possibly till golden. Sprinkle with remaining toffee bits. Let cold completely. Cut into bars.
