Directions

  1. Crust: Beat flour, margarine, sugar, salt and cookies together.
  2. Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  3. Cool completely.
  4. Pie Filling: Spread cherry pie filling over the crust.
  5. Cream: Beat heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Set aside. In a medium sauce pan, melt butter and 1 cup chocolate chips. Pour into heavy whipping bowl, mix until smooth. Spread over cherry layer.
  6. Spread 1 cup chocolate chips over the cream layer. Chill for 15 minutes.
  7. Filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, almond extract and cherries. Spread over chocolate chips.
  8. Topping: Mix cool whip and red food coloring and spread over cream cheese layer.
  9. Decorate.
