Chocolate Chip Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. butter, firmly packed
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. chocolate bits
  • 1/2 c. minced nuts

Directions

  1. Frost with Butterscotch Frosting (see next recipe), 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pcs; preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 inch pan.
  2. Sift flour, baking pwdr, and salt together; set aside. Heat butter. Add in sugar; stir over low heat till sugar is melted. Turn into medium bowl; add in Large eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each. Add in vanilla. Stir in flour mix, 1 package chocolate bits, and nuts. Mix well. Turn into prepared pan. Bake 30 min. Let cold completely on wire rack. Frost with Butterscotch Frosting. Garnish with chocolate bits. Cut into bars. 20 servings.
