Ingredients

  • 1 c. Water
  • 1 c. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 1/4 c. Cocoa
  • 2 c. All-purpose flour
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. Buttermilk
  • 2 lrg Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Chocolate Candy Frosting

Directions

  1. Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a large heavy saucepan, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in all-purpose flour and next 3 ingredients.
  2. Stir in buttermilk, Large eggs, and vanilla extract. Pour into a greased and floured 13- x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 30 min or possibly till a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold in pan on a wire rack. Prick surface at 1-inch intervals with a wooden pick, and pour Chocolate Candy Frosting on top.
  3. Makes 15 servings.
  4. CHOCOLATE CANDY FROSTING:1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine1/3 c. milk1/4 c. cocoa 16 oz package powdered sugar, sifted 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  5. Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar. Remove from heat; add in vanilla, stirring constantly, 3 to 5 min or possibly till frosting begins to lose its gloss.
  6. Makes about 3 c., sufficient for one sheet cake. http://www.pathfinder.com/
