Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine sugar, cocoa pwdr, flour, baking soda and salt. Stir with a wire whisk till blended. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening till proportionately distributed and mix resembles corn meal. Spoon about 1/3 c. of the mix into each of 11 small containers with tight fitting lids or possibly zip-lock bags. Seal containers. Label with date and contents. Store in a cold dry place. Use within 12 weeks.
  2. Makes 11packages of Children's Chocolate Cake Mix for Easybake style oven.
  3. To Use:1 package cake mix4 teaspoon water.
  4. Mix together and stir with a fork or possibly spoon till blended and smooth. Pour mix into greased and floured 4 inch round miniature baking pan. Follow directions for child's oven, or possibly bake in mom's preheated 375* oven for 12 to 13 min. Remove from oven and cold in pan on a rack for 5 min. Invert onto a small plate and remove pan. When cold, frost with Children's Chocolate Frosting.
  5. Serves 2 children.
