Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 pound chicken, quartered
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 tbsp. minced onion
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. red wine
- 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can sm. onions
- 1 can (1 c.) mushrooms
- Buttered fresh bread
Directions
- Cook chicken with minced onion in skillet in heated oil till brown. Stir in flour and cook till well browned. Add in wine, chicken broth, garlic, bay leaf, thyme, onions and mushrooms. Bring to a boil. Cover. Simmer 45 min till meat is tender. Serve with garlic fresh bread. Good with broccoli. Howard adds pour out the chicken and drink the wine.
