Chicken Fried Steak With White Gravy

  • 4 cubed steaks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 Large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 c. lowfat milk


  1. Season beef with salt. Mix flour with pepper in a large dish. Dredge each steak in flour; dip in beaten Large eggs, then dredge in flour again. Heat oil in a large skillet. Fry steaks on each side till golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Pour off all but 2 Tbsp. oil. Sprinkle 2 Tbsp. of flour mix into oil. Cook over medium heat 1 minute, scraping brown bits from bottom. Stir in lowfat milk slowly till smooth. Cook till thickened. Pour over steaks when serving.
