Directions

  1. Clean and cut up chicken; brown slowly in 1/4 c. oil. Place in kettle with just sufficient boiling water to cover. Add in rest of ingredients, except lowfat milk and flour. Boil 5 min. Turn down heat; simmer gently till tender (2 to 3 hrs). Add in water, if necessary. Drop dumplings by spoonfuls onto boiling chicken. Cook 10 min, uncovered, and 10 min, covered.
