Ingredients

  • 1 (2 to 3) pound frying chicken
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 med. onion
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 gallon water

Directions

  1. Wash chicken. Place in a large pan. Add in water. Prepare vegetables and cut up in pcs. Cook chicken with vegetables and seasonings. Cover pot and boil 20 min. Leave chicken in broth covered for 1 hour. Remove chicken and vegetables, boil broth again and drop cream of wheat dumplings in warm broth. Boil 10 to 12 min. Serve with chicken and vegetables.
