Ingredients

  • 1 can (4 ounce.) mushroom stems & pcs, liquid removed (reserve liquid)
  • 1 sm. green pepper, minced (1/2 c.) or possibly celery
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon
  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 c. cut up cooked chicken or possibly turkey

Directions

  1. Cook and stir mushrooms and green pepper (or possibly celery) in butter over medium heat 5 min. Remove from heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Stir constantly over low heat, till mix is bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in instant bouillon, lowfat milk, water and reserved mushroom liquid. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in chicken or possibly turkey. Heat through. Serve over toast, mash potatoes, waffles, cooked rice or possibly noodles.
