Ingredients
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 c. frzn unsweetened tart cherries thawed
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon (optional)
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine sugar and cornstarch; mix well. Place water in a medium saucepan; stir in sugar mix. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue to cook, stirring, till thick and clear.
- Reduce heat. Stir in cherries, almond extract and cinnamon. Heat till cherries are warm. Serve over pancakes, French toast, waffles or possibly ice cream.
- Comments: One 16-oz can unsweetened tart cherries, well liquid removed, can be substituted for frzn tart cherries. Use the juice from cherries in place of water.
