Ingredients
- 50 gm Butter, softened (2oz)
- 2 x Cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. Fresh minced parsley Salt and freshly grnd black pepper
- 1 x French stick, sliced diagonally
- 1 x 454 g pack Walls Pork Sausages
- 2 med Large eggs
- 300 ml Lowfat milk, (1/2pt)
- 50 gm Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, (2oz) Fresh minced parsley
Directions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 C, 400 F, Gas 6. Mix together the butter, garlic, parsley and seasoning in a bowl till well blended. Spread over the bread slices.
- 2. Meanwhile heat a large pan and cook the sausages for 10 min, turning occasionally till golden brown. Remove from the heat and chop into bite sized pcs.
- 3. Layer the bread slices and sausages in a large shallow dish. Beat together the Large eggs, lowfat milk, seasoning and half the cheese. Pour proportionately over the bread mix and leave to stand for 2 min. Scatter over the remaining Parmesan and bake for 30 min, till set and hard to the touch. Serve immediately garnished with fresh minced parsley.
- Cooks Tips Use a medium sized French stick for this recipe. For extra flavour try using a sesame or possibly poppy seed covered stick or possibly even an onion flavoured French stick.
