Cheese And Ham Bread And Butter Pudding

Ingredients

  • 6 x thick slices of sourdough bread
  • 50 gm butter softened
  • 150 gm proper ham cut into large chunks
  • 150 x gfarmhouse cheddar (such as Keens Montgomerys or possibly Isle of Mull) grated
  • 400 ml lowfat milk
  • 3 lrg Large eggs

Directions

  1. Butter the bread and place 3 slices in the base of an ovenproof dish.
  2. Top with the ham and half the cheese.
  3. Then top with the remaining bread slices butterside up.
  4. Whisk together the lowfat milk Large eggs and plenty of salt and pepper and pour slowly over the bread.
  5. Sprinkle over theremaining cheese leave for 10 to 15 min then bake at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4 for 40 to 45 min till puffed up and golden.
  6. Once prepared leave to soak for about 10 min before baking.
  7. Serves 4
