Ingredients

  • (Combination of Syrian, Morrocan and Yemenite recipes)
  • 1 c. pitted dates
  • 1 x apple, peeled
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. minced walnuts ginger juice (grate a fresh piece of ginger and squeeze the grated portion to extract the juice) sweet wine

Directions

  1. Process peeled apple in food processor. Add in remaining ingredients and process till smooth. Add in ginger juice and wine to taste.
  2. All measurements are approximate - you really need to taste as you go. Also, feel free to add in/substitute other dry fruits (e.g.,figs, apricots, prunes, etc), spices (e.g., cinnamon), and nuts.
