  • 2 c. Steen"s 100% Pure Cane Syrup
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 1/2 c. light Karo syrup
  • 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c. chopped onions
  • 2 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 8 x double-cut pork loin chops abt 2 1/2" to 3" thk and abt 14 to 16 ounce ea Creole seasoning see * Note
  • 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 x recipe Smoked Gouda Cheese Macaroni (see recipe) Parsley for garnish

Directions

  1. Whisk all of the marinade ingredients together, in a mixing bowl, blending well. Season the both sides of the pork chops with Creole seasoning. Place the chops in a large Zip-lock bag. Pour the marinade over the chops. Seal and shake the bag to coat the chops proportionately with the marinade. Chill for 24 hrs, turning the bag several times.
  2. Drain the pork in a colander, reserving the marinade. Pour the marinade into a saucepan and simmer over medium-low heat till it is thick and dark, about 30 min. Set aside.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Heat 2 large skillets over medium heat, add in 2 Tbsp. of the oil to each skillet. Add in the pork chops and sear for 3 min on each side. Remove from the pan and place on a wire rack set in a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 min for medium. Baste the pork chops every 5 min with the marinade.
  4. Remove from the oven and rest for 5 min before serving. Spoon the Smoked Gouda Cheese Macaroni in the center of each plate. Lay a chop on the top and garnish with parsley.
  5. This recipe yields 6 servings.
