Caramel Apple Pork Chops Recipe

  • 4 x (3/4 inch) thick pork chops
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp grnd nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 x tart apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. minced pecans (optional)

Directions

  1. 1 Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Brush chops lightly with oil, and place in warm pan. Cook for 5 to 6 min, turning occasionally, or possibly till proportionately browned. Transfer to a hot dish, and keep hot in a low oven.
  2. 2 In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add in butter to skillet, and stir in brown sugar mix and apples. Cover, and cook for 3 to 4 min, or possibly just till apples are tender. Remove apples with a slotted spoon, and arrange on top of chops. Keep hot.
  4. 3 Continue cooking mix in skillet, uncovered, till sauce thickens slightly. Spoon sauce over apples and chops. Sprinkle with pecans, if you like.
