Cane Rosso's Soppresatta Pizza Recipe

This delicious pizza is a copycat I made when a friend named Kelly took me to the Cane Rosso Restaurant (Red Dog) to figure out what the ingredients were. The base sauce is habanero honey jelly.

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe favorite pizza dough (I use Wolfgang Puck's - see links)
  • 2 - 4 tbs. habanero honey jelly
  • 1 T fresh basil slivers
  • 6 oz. fresh mozzarella di bufalo (water buffalo cheese), sliced
  • 1 smashed clove garlic
  • 1-2 oz. thinly shaved soppresatta (salami)
  • shaved parmesan cheese
  • cornmeal

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 500 degrees,. using a pizza stone, if you have it.
  2. Stretch pizza dough fairly thin.
  3. Place on parchment sprinkled with cornmeal.
  4. Slather on jelly, top with garlic, basil, mozzarella.
  5. Place soppresatta on top.
  6. Bake 8-10 minutes.
  7. Remove and top with shaved parmesan.
