Butter Biscuits With Orange Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 c. Flour, all purpose
  • 4 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp Cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 c. Butter, cut into pcs
  • 2/3 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. Butter, softened
  • 3 Tbsp. Orange marmalade

Directions

  1. Preparation and Baking Time: 45 min
  2. Heat oven to 450F. In a medium bowl combine flour, sugar, baking pwdr, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in 1/3 c. butter till mix resembles fine crumbs. Stir in lowfat milk just till blended. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; knead 15 seconds. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with 2 1/2 inch round cutter. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 min or possibly till golden. Meanwhile in a small bowl stir together orange butter ingredients. Serve hot biscuits with orange butter.
  3. Yield: 8 biscuits, 2/3 c. orange butter.
