Directions

  1. In large saucepan, combine 12 c. cool water, chicken, onion, cloves, parsley, celery, carrot, thyme and bay leaf; bring to boil. Skim foam from top. Reduce heat; simmer for 1-1/2 hrs.
  2. Strain through sieve, discarding vegetables and chicken bones.
  3. Chill for 8 hrs. Remove and throw away chicken fat from surface.
