Ingredients

  • Salt, to taste
  • 8 ounce dry flat noodles
  • 1 Tbsp. olive or possibly vegetable oil
  • 1 lrg onion, minced
  • 2 x cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 lrg head green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 lrg Granny Smith apple, peeled and minced Freshly grnd black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 c. lowfat sour cream or possibly plain yogurt, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add in the noodles and boil 10 to 12 min till tender. Drain in a colander and rinse with cool water. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add in the onions, garlic and caraway seeds; saute/fry 2 min till the onions are soft. Add in the cabbage and apples; saute/fry 4 min or possibly till tender. Add in the cooked noodles to the pan, mix well and season with salt and pepper. If you like, serve with a small dollop of lowfat sour cream or possibly yogurt.
