  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
  2. 2. To make the Batter: Sift together the flour and bakng pwdr; set aside. In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer till light. Gradually beat in the Large eggs and vanilla till blended.
  3. Combine the maple syrup and bourbon; add a slow, steady stream, beating gently untl blended.
  4. 3. Stir in the flour mix till blended. Add in the pecans or possibly walnuts; stir to blend.
  5. 4. Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake for 35 min, or possibly till the edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Cold on a wire rack, and glaze the bars while still hot.
  6. 5. To make the Glaze: Shift the ocnfectioners' sugar into a small bowl. In a separate bowl, stir together the maple syrup and bourbon. Add in the liquids to the confectioners' sugar, stirring till smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the hot bar cookies, spreading it into a thin, even layer. Cold thoroughly before cutting into bars Makes 24 bars.
