%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20a%20batch%20of%20the%20sangr%C3%ADa%20de%20vino%20rosado%20recently,%20and%20it%20went%20over%20so%20well%20that%20I%20decided%20another%20batch%20of%20sangr%C3%ADa%20was%20called%20for%20as%20part%20of%20our%20celebration%20at%20home.%20While%20flipping%20through%20Boqueria%E2%80%99s%20cookbook%20I%20narrowed%20in%20on%20the%20pineapple%20sangr%C3%ADa%20as%20one%20that%20seemed%20right%20up%20our%20alley%20and%20one%20that%20we%20had%20never%20tried%20before.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20definitely%20not%20a%20typical%20sangr%C3%ADa%20recipe;%20while%20a%20bottle%20of%20wine%20forms%20the%20base%20of%20it,%20there%20isn%E2%80%99t%20a%20melange%20of%20fruit%20in%20this.%20Instead,%20it%20gets%20its%20distinct%20flavor%20from%20spiking%20the%20punch%20with%20bourbon%20and%20a%20liqueur%20called%20Falernum.%20Mainly%20used%20in%20tiki-style%20drinks,%20it%E2%80%99s%20apparently%20not%20easy%20to%20find%20but%20a%20quick%20Google%20search%20got%20me%20to%20a%20DIY%20recipe%20courtesy%20of%20Serious%20Eats.%20Since%20I%20had%20the%20time%20to%20make%20it,%20I%20figured%20it%20would%20be%20way%20easier%20to%20do%20that%20than%20trying%20to%20source%20a%20bottle%20myself.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20pretty%20simple%20process:%20you%20combine%20cloves%20and%20toasted%20almonds%20with%20light%20rum%20and%20let%20it%20sit%20for%20two%20days.%20The%20zest%20of%20eight%20limes%20goes%20in%20after%20that%20along%20with%20any%20other%20desired%20spices%20and%20sits%20for%20another%20day%20before%20finally%20straining%20all%20of%20that%20out%20and%20combining%20it%20with%20lime%20syrup.%20The%20resulting%20concoction%20tastes%20like%20a%20liquid%20version%20of%20a%20lime%20square,%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20absolutely%20wild.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20sangr%C3%ADa%20pictured%20with%20Falernum%20(because%20something%20that%20took%20that%20effort%20deserves%20some%20photo%20recognition!).%20In%20the%20header%20notes%20for%20this%20recipe,%20they%20note%20that%20they%20serve%20this%20at%20Boqueria%20in%20the%20height%20of%20summer%20as%20well%20as%20in%20January;%20the%20former%20for%20celebrating%20the%20season,%20and%20the%20latter%20for%20reminding%20us%20of%20warmer%20days.%20I%20have%20a%20feeling%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20doing%20the%20same%20thing%20come%20January,%20though%20I%20hope%20it%E2%80%99s%20for%20more%20celebratory%20reasons.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EArrange%20the%20slices%20of%20pineapple%20on%20cookie%20sheets%20lined%20with%20parchment%20paper%20or%20ideally%20silicone%20mats.%20Broil%20in%20the%20oven%20for%2015%20minutes%20per%20tray%20until%20they%20char%20(you%20will%20need%202%20trays%20total),%20let%20cool,%20and%20then%20slice%20into%20wedges%20in%20order%20to%20easily%20remove%20the%20pineapple%20core.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20all%20of%20the%20liquid%20ingredients%20in%20a%20large%20container%20and%20then%20add%20the%20broiled%20pineapple%20wedges,%20cover,%20and%20refrigerate%20for%20at%20least%2010%20hours%20or%20overnight.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20pineapple%20can%20be%20used%20as%20a%20garnish%20or%20otherwise%20removed%20following%20infusion,%20and%20serve%20well-chilled.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
