Ingredients

  • 1 cup husked, split gram dal {urad dal dhuli}
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 4 green chilles {I used 2}
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida powder {hing}
  • 1/2″ piece ginger, peeld and grated
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1tsp salt or to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
