Black Cherry Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pkt (3 ounce.) cream cheese, cut up
  • 1 pkt (3 ounce.) black cherry Jello
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 2 x Egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1 x Plain (8 ounce.) yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd nutmeg
  • 2 x Egg whites
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 can (16 ounce.) pitted dark sweet cherries, liquid removed & halved
  • 1 x Graham cracker pie shell Unsweetened whipped cream

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine cream cheese, cherry gelatin, water and beat egg yolks. Cook and stir about 6 min, or possibly till the gelatin is dissolved and the mix is slightly thickened. Remove from heat. Beat the yogurt and nutmeg into the gelatin mix till the mix is smooth. Refrigerateto the consistency of corn syrup, stirring occasionally. meanwhile, wash beaters thoroughly. Beat the egg whites till soft peaks form; gradually add in the sugar, beating till stiff peaks form. When the gelatin is the consistency of unbeaten egg whites (partially set), fold the egg whites into the gelatin mix. Fold the liquid removed cherries into the gelatin mix; refrigeratetill the mix mounds when spooned. Turn into the graham cracker pie shell. Refrigerateat least 3 hrs, or possibly till set. If you like, garnish with whipped cream.
  2. Makes 8 servings.
