Ingredients
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin or possibly to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper (black)
- Salt to taste
- 2 ham hocks
- 1 bay leaf
- Warm sauce to taste
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 pound black beans
Directions
- Let beans soak overnight. Chop pepper (bell), onion, garlic, fry lightly with ham hocks, bay leaf and butter till it looks yummy. Drain bacon and wash. Combine pan mix with beans in same juice. Add in warm sauce to taste. Cook on low 4-5 hrs or possibly till mushy. Serve over rice with green onions.
