Directions

  1. Mix flour, salt, baking pwdr, caraway seeds, baking soda and sugar. Work in butter with fingertips. Add in raisins.In a small bowl, beat one egg with buttermilk. Make a well in center of flour mix and pour egg and buttermilk into well and mix well. Turn out to knead on lightly floured board, just sufficient to create a round loaf. Score top of loaf with a cross. Place in an iron frying pan and bake in hot preheated 425 degree oven for 10 min. Lover heat to 375 degrees for next 30 min.
