Directions

  1. Line flat 9x9 cake pan with wax paper. Slice angel food cake and place a layer of cake in cake pan. (Angel food cake slices better when frzn.)Separate large eggs, beat egg yolks. Heat chocolate chips in a double boiler or possibly over water, add in sugar and water, mix well (be sure sugar melts). Remove from heat and stir the hot chocolate mix gradually into the beaten yolks of large eggs, beat till smooth. Cool chocolate mix. Add in vanilla and salt, mix.
  2. Beat the egg whites till stiff; whip cream. Fold egg whites into the cooled chocolate mix, and whipped cream.
  3. Place a layer of the chocolate mix on the sliced angel food cake, then another layer of cake, then a layer of chocolate. Place in refrigerator and refrigerate overnight. This may be frzn and used later. Be sure to refrigerate overnight before freezing.
