Directions

  1. Combine yeast, 1/4 c. lukewarm water and 1 Tbsp. sugar in large bowl; stir till yeast is dissolved. Set aside, sift flour, salt and soda together. heat buttermilk over low heat till lukewarm. Combine with yeast mix. Add in remaining sugar and corn oil, mix well. Add in flour mix 2 c. at a time, mix well. Let stand 10 min, knead for 5 min. Shape into rolls, place in greased pan. Brush top with melted butter. Let rise for 30 min. Bake in preheated 400 degrees oven for 8 to 10 min. Yield: 2 to 3 dozen.
