Berryful Sangria Recipe
Berryful Sangria By Eliot, on May 20th, 2018 It was honestly the first weekend that we could spend its entirety outside. No rain. No hellacious wind (well, at least for Oklahoma). Temperatures in the high 70s.
Lovely.
It was also Cinco de Mayo which marks an anniversary for us—the day we met twenty five years ago.
Put all of these happenings together and it’s Sangria Time.

Break out a pitcher and enjoy the weather.
Ingredients
1 bottle blueberry wine
1 c. pinot grigio
3 oz. berry liqueur (I used a raspberry one but almost used Strawberry Pucker!)
1/8 to 1/4 c. grenadine (depending on sweetness level)
1 1/4 c. pomegranate juice
6 oz. fresh blueberries
4-5 large strawberries, sliced
1 apple, chopped
club soda
Instructions
Place wine, liqueur, grenadine and pomegranate juice in a large pitcher. Stir.
Add fruit, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours.
Before serving, top off pitcher with club soda.
Yield: 4
We are swapping out homemade wine with friends that are also brewing. This recipe was a great avenue for some homemade blueberry wine that we traded.
I based this latest concoction on “A Berry Good Sangria” that I made last summer with another friend’s homemade blackberry wine. I love the versatility of sangria. Throw in whatever you like. Chances are it will be drinkable.
It’s been a really busy May with a hugely busy summer to come. We made a quick trip to Tucson to see one of our favorite nieces graduate from the University of Arizona. So proud of her. We loved the city and wish we could have seen more of it, but we had a spectacular time with family.
Wrapping up another school year…and then?
More to come. Recipes berries, cocktail, sangria, wine
