Beer Battered Crouton Coated Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pkg whole mushrooms, wiped clean
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup beer (I like Leinenkugels)
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 t old bay seasoning
  • 2 cups croutons, any flavor, crushed
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • Slice mushrooms in half
  • With wire whisk, whisk together flour, beer, baking powder, and old bay seasoning
  • Heat oil in deep fat fryer to 375º
  • Dip sliced mushrooms in batter, then roll in crushed croutons
  • Drop into hot oil and fry until golden brown, 2-4 mins
