Directions

  1. Rehydrate chopped onion in 2 Tbsp. water. Let stand 10 min to soften. Cut beef into 1-inch cubes or possibly cut chicken into serving size pcs. Dredge meat in flour mixed with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add in meat, onion, and 1 Tbsp. paprika; brown meat well on all sides. Add in 1/2 c. water. Cover tightly and simmer till tender, about 1 1/2 hrs for beef or possibly 45 min for chicken, turning occasionally and adding more water if needed.
  3. To make sauce: In a small saucepan, heat butter. Blend in lowfat milk; cook and stir till thickened. Gradually stir in lowfat sour cream, beating vigorously. Pour sauce over cooked meat in skillet and heat thoroughly, BUT Don't BOIL!
  4. Serve with warm broad noodles if you like. Yield: 4-6 portions.
