Beef Bourguignon Crock Pot Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon cooked, and grease reserved
  • 3 lb beef cubed
  • 1 bot red wine
  • 1 lb onions minced
  • 1 lb celery
  • 1 lb carrots minced
  • 2 x garlic cloves minced Minced shallots (optional)
  • 1 x bay leaf Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste Flour

Directions

  1. Slowly cook bacon in large baking pan; remove. Dredge beef cubes in flour, brown in bacon fat. Transfer meat from skillet to heated platter. Saute/fry vegetable and garlic in bacon fat; remove. Drain fat from pan.
  2. Gently combine beef, vegetables, bacon and half the wine. Add in bay leaf and salt and pepper to taste. Cook on for LOW 8 to 10 hrs.
  3. This recipe yields 6 servings.
