Basic Yellow Cake (Golden Glow Cake) Recipe

This is a basic yellow cake recipe I got out of an old  Ann Pillsbury recipe pamphlet.  And I do mean It was actually endorsed by Kate Smith, a wonderful singer who could belt it out there.  She was very popular during WWII.
