  • 1 c. liquid
  • 1 Tbsp. sweetener
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast

Directions

  1. (Serves 12)
  2. This simple recipe can easily be modified to suit your taste.
  3. * (water, soy lowfat milk, or possibly apple juice for example)
  4. ** (a combination of any two or possibly more white, oat, rye, or possibly whole wheat bread flour)
  5. Fat: less than 1 gram
  6. Most machines have you place the liquids in the breadpan first, then add in the dry ingredients on top, ending with the yeast, but since some have you do it in the opposite order, check the manufacturer's instructions. If you're so inclined, freshly grnd flour can make a big difference in the flavor.
  7. The following are some of my personal favorite recipes. Follow the instructions for your breadmaker. I eat the bread as is, fresh from the breadmaker.
  8. My basic formula for a one lb. loaf calls for 2 c. of flour, 1 tsp. yeast, 3/4 tsp. salt, 3/4 c. liquid, 1 TB honey, 1 TB oil or possibly butter.
  9. I generally add in 2 Tablespoons gluten and 2 tsp. dough enhancer as well as I make 80% whole wheat and 20% white. ["Bev Carney" ([email protected])]
