Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean, boneless pork, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grnd black pepper
  • 2 x cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 x scallions, finely diced
  • 1 Tbsp. fish sauce or possibly oyster sauce
  • 12 x bamboo skewers, soaked in water for at least 10 min Crushed peanuts Chopped herbs of your choice Fresh baguette or possibly steamed white rice

Directions

  1. Preheat grill or possibly broiler. Marinate pork in honey, salt, pepper, garlic, oil, cornstarch, scallions, and fish sauce or possibly oyster sauce. Set aside for 15 min.
  2. Thread marinated pork onto skewers, leaving 2 inches free at each end. Place pork skewers on the grill, turning and brushing occasionally with marinade, till they turn golden. Or possibly broil them.
  3. Strip barbecued pork from skewers. Sprinkle crushed peanuts and chopped herbs over all. Tuck meat into baguette for a sandwich or possibly serve atop bowls of warm rice.
