Directions

  1. I just made this and it's quite good. It's inspired by Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey, one of my favorite flavors, but the recipe is my own adaptation after looking at banana ice cream recipes in several cookbooks. Let me know what you think, sp which I can possibly refine it further.
  2. Peel the bananas and cut into chunks. Puree in blender with the lemon juice. Add in vanilla and sugar and blend till smooth. Add in lowfat milk and blend again, briefly. Add in cream, blend thoroughly.
  3. Churn in ice-cream machine according to manufacturer's instructions. A few min before finished, add in nuts and chocolate chips; continue churning.
  4. Makes 1 generous qt.

I tried this recipe because I love bananas! I omitted the walnuts and chocolate chips. It was so creamy and delicious! I love it! :)
