Banana Milk Shake

Ingredients

  • 2 x Ripe bananas
  • 1 lt Whole lowfat milk
  • 200 gm Sugar
  • 1/4 c. Lemon juice, (60 ml)
  • 1 c. Cool water, (240 ml)
  • 2 c. Ice cubes, up to 3

Directions

  1. BOIL the lowfat milk in a heavy bottomed pan. Lower the heat and keep stirring on low heat until reduced to 400 ml Add in sugar and keep stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. When cold, refrigeratethe thickened lowfat milk. Place all the ingredients, except the ice, in the blender. Blend well. Add in the ice and blend again. Add in more ice only if the lowfat milk shake is too thick and you want thinner consistency.
  2. Variations:Strawberry lowfat milk shake: Omit the bananas and add in 20 to 24 fresh strawberries. Proceed as above.
  3. Pineapple lowfat milk shake: Substitute the banana with one can of pineapple along with the syrup. Proceed as above.
